Me?

I'm not the most exciting person on the planet, but occasionally you might get a laugh or two out of my thoughts!

I love this guy!

HOT OFF THE PRESS: Wall Street Journal video on Humans of New York.

My youngest (ok he’s 19, but he is the younger of the two) just boarded a plane.  He will be gone for 12 weeks.  He’s joined the United States Navy.  This is a great day for him (but a sad day for me)!

Damn! I’m sharing this on facebook!

AU: Katniss is hijacked instead of Peeta.

It took her weeks to get to the point where she doesn’t cower at the sight of me. Every look she gives me burns like a hot knife to the heart; because I realise that the distrust and hostility that the Capitol planted in her isn’t really so dissimilar to how she’s always looked at me. And I’ll never know, now, how she really felt, because she no longer knows. She no longer feels anything but fear and anger. I touch the bruises on my neck, and remember the unyielding strength and conviction with which she tried to kill me. I wonder - had we been alone - if I would’ve just lain there, unmoving, and let her. She stares at me with distrust, restrained and tense, and says quietly they say you loved me a lot. I close my eyes, and reply I do.

  • Don’t have to follow my tumblr account, but if you follow my twitter here and message me telling me you have done so, I will enter your name twice. (A bit like with tesserae in The Hunger Games)
  • I ship ANYWHERE.

I will pick a winner using a random name generator on 01/05/2012 and message them on tumblr. If you do not reply within 24 hours, I will give the stuff to someone else.
Side Note: If you are JUST a Sherlockian or JUST a Whovian, I can swap the merch from either fandom with something from the fandom you belong to instead.
If this goes well, I will definitely do more giveaways in future!
Good luck, and may the odds be ever in your favour.
(Inbox me with any questions)

from a little spark, may burst a flame.

Can someone please tell me who “Finnick” is???

I found this man on 7th Avenue in Park Slope. He was leaning heavily on his cane, looking down, wearing a grimaced face. I felt bad for him, so I smiled and waved when I walked past. His face changed completely. He lit up, smiled wide, and gave me a cheery greeting. There was nothing forced about it. He seemed like a man who went through life looking for the smallest excuses to be happy.I walked 50 feet down the sidewalk, turned around, and walked back to him. “I want to take your photo,” I told him, “because of how big you smiled when I walked by.”He said: “Well I saw someone smiling at me who I didn’t even know. So I thought: ‘By God! I Better do something!’”

Love everything about this

About three things I am absolutely positive. First, Katniss is the Girl on Fire, even though I was on fire too. Second, there is a part of her — and I don’t know how potent that part might be — that thirsts for my death. And third, I am unconditionally and irrevocably in love with her.
